The city of Evanston, located 14 miles north of the Loop, is a diverse and beautiful community.
Evanston is home to the prestigious Northwestern University, which was actually founded before the city itself, The University is known for encouraging innovation and integration of experience, and also for its incredible football team, which has won eight Big-Ten Championships and one Rose-Bowl championship.
Evanston has many places to go if shopping is a must. With six different malls, including Westfield Shopping town Old Orchard, the city of Evanston has stores to delight every interest.
The city of Evanston has lots to offer in terms of recreation. With 75 parks and over 250 acres of park space, there is always room to go biking, walking, picnicking, or just for fun! Evanston also offers five beaches for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. Recreational centers in Evanston offer programs for the young and the young at heart in anything from athletics and fitness, to camps and classes.
Schools: Evanston/Skokie Consolidated School District 65 offers its services to primary school students.
Evanston Township High School in District 202 serves the high school students in the city.
Transportation: To the west of the city lies the Tri-State Tollway (I-294_ which connects with several other major highways around the area. Drive time to the Loop is a little under 30 minutes. A trip to Chicago O’Hare Airport will take 30 minutes, and a trip to Chicago Midway Airport will take 40 minutes.
Rail commuters can board the elevated train, or the “L”, in the heart of Evanston on Davis St. There is also a Metra station on Davis St. Bus services are also available.
