Glencoe Information
Glencoe is a beautiful community with a rich heritage, located 24 miles north of the Loop.

The Glencoe Golf Club was established in 1921 and continues to be a well-played course. It has become to be known as one of the finest golf facilities on the North Shore. The Village of Glencoe is also home to the Chicago Botanic Garden, which has 385 acres of space, 23 gardens, 3 native habitats, and 81 acres of waterways. The Garden has long been one of Chicagoland main attractions.

The Glencoe Park District offers so much to the community. It is home to beaches, parks, and community centers, which offer many programs to the residents of Glencoe. In addition, there is a bird sanctuary and a wildflower sanctuary located within its boundaries. Some of the programs offered by the park district include athletics, fitness, arts and crafts, and special events hosted for adults and youths.

Schools: Glencoe District 35 serves the needs of the primary school students in Glencoe. High school students can attend classes at New Trier High School. Graduation rate within the district was 96.9 in 2004.

Transportation: Glencoe is located just east of the Edens Expressway (I-94) and the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). A trip to Chicago O’Hare Airport will take a little over 30 minutes and a drive to Chicago Midway Airport will take 45 minutes.

Rail commuters can use the Union Pacific District North Line and board right in Glencoe for a 45-minute trip to the Loop. Bus service is also available.
